Well, I have to say that it’s been quite the busy year so far, and we’re not even four months into 2015 yet. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about different projects of mine, so I figured I’d go ahead and answer everything all at once in one big post. Here is all the book news from me for the remainder of 2015!
First up: Lex Talionis
You probably already know about this book, but as the ebook doesn’t go live until April 27th, it’s technically part of my upcoming release schedule. So here you have it. Did you pre-order yet? Why the heck not?
And now moving on to stuff you DON’T know about.
My next release wasn’t one I originally planned on releasing this year, but as I finished the manuscript, I realized it needed to be moved up. So, June 1st, I’ll be releasing My Bittersweet Summer. This is a Contemporary, Upper YA romance (a standalone) that sort of snuck up on me last year and decided that it needed to be finished right now. It’s mostly clean with the exception of a few (less than a dozen) instances of adult language, but I think it’s perfectly suitable for ages 15 and up. I’m absolutely certain high schoolers hear way worse at school than what they’ll find in this book, but everyone has different standards. So while it may not be suitable for ALL audiences, I’m still filing it under Starla Huchton, rather than S. A. Huchton. The cover for this one will go out in May, and it’s really lovely. :)
Following that one, August 10th will see The Night Bridge going live. This one marks my return to Science Fiction Romance, and falls comfortably in the New Adult box. I’ve shared the blurb before in my post about my method for writing blurbs, but I thought I’d put it up again just as a refresher:
“Shari
For twelve years, she tried to convince herself he wasn’t real. The beautiful man by the lake was simply the product of a child’s overactive imagination.
Eran
For his entire life, all he has wanted is to be one of the elite protectors of humanity, but the only charge he’s ever known is a little girl who didn’t need him. Now, she is his last hope.
Together, the foundations of their realities will be stripped away.
Together, they must find a way to save two worlds.
To survive, they must fight.
But to live, they need each other.”
This one is a scientific explanation for angels and demons, and includes all the fun of trans-dimensional travel and differences in the movement of time and tesseracts and gadgets and ALL THE SCIENCE! Also, it’s a love story, so there’s that as well. This one is definitely an S. A. Huchton book and not for eyeballs under 18. You’ll get to see this cover in July.
And now, here’s the one people have been asking about the most, and I can finally say I have an update! Spark, the first Chronicles of ISLE book (the follow on series to Evolution) will be releasing on September 28th, 2015! I promised readers at the end of Evolution: HEX that this book would be out this year, and I am happy to say that I will be making good on that promise! The sexy superheroes are back with an all-new story arc and a new generation! There will be three books in this series, and all of them will follow a different hero, so it’s slightly different from the Evolution series, but I think you guys will enjoy what I’ve got planned.
Lastly, my final release of this year will fall on November 16th, which is fitting because it feels like a wintery book. My Flipped Fairy Tales have been more popular than I ever expected, and so I decided there will be one more coming out this year. Ride the Wind is a take on a lesser-known fairy tale, but it’s been one of my favorites for a very long time. It will mark the return of a character from Shadows on Snow, but I’m not saying who, I’m not saying how, and I’m not telling you which fairy tale just yet. I have hinted at it in The Stillness of the Sky as well as Shadows on Snow, but you’d have to dig pretty deep and really know your fairy tales to put those pieces together. Good luck on guessing! ;)
So that’s my plan for 2015. I’m already looking ahead for what’s likely to drop in 2016, but new ideas are always cropping up for me, so I can’t say what books those will be with any certainty right now. If this list is any indication of the wide variety of stories buried in my head, however, it will definitely be an interesting ride. Hope you’re all looking forward to them!

Starla,
I’ve been a fan of your work for a long time and have never been disappointed. I took a chance on the Evolution sites and I’m glad I did. It was outstanding. I’m really happy to see you’re planning the next series and will have it out soon. Between you, Tee & Pip, and Scott Sigler, my reading list is awesomely long. I love it. Keep up the awesome work! Oh I plan to grab Maven next.
Thanks again
