Because I’m so very happy about how the blog tour has gone this past week, I’m giving you all a little present.
Welcome to Sneak Peek Saturday. This is just a little look at book 3 of the Endure series, posted as a thank you to all the folks who read and reviewed Maven and Nemesis the last few days. Truly, your kind words and support mean the world to me.
It’s not a long look, but here’s a tiny taste of Progeny…

So she was serious about this after all. He was going to learn how to fight. Well, to punch the crap out of a bag anyway. Daniel rolled his neck and adjusted his stance.
“You can always picture someone’s face in the middle there. That usually helps.”
His hand slammed forward, knocking the punching bag back with a force that made Brooke jump. “What the hell? Jesus, Daniel. What was that?”
“You’re right. It does help.”
She rolled her eyes. “Whatever. Just keep your fantasies to the gym and forget everything I said by tomorrow night, okay?”
Daniel stopped mid-punch. The momentum carried his body forward and he stumbled into the bag. “What? Why?”
Brooke winced. “No one told you?”
His insides clenched. “Told me what?”
Daniel saw the inner battle on Brooke’s face. It took her a moment to decide what to say next. “Nick’s coming back. I think maybe your dad didn’t want you to know, but you’re going to find out anyway.”
So Dr. Gorgeous was coming back to the Endure. Without Lydia. He did remember being told something about only having the funding for one long-term deployment, but his head was definitely elsewhere during that meeting, and he didn’t give it much thought. Somewhere along the line, his brain placed the blame for Lydia’s leaving squarely on Dr. Nick Miller’s shoulders. His solo return was throwing an inconvenient kink in Daniel’s plan to direct his anger at the handsome, absent doctor. Maybe it was possible Nick and Lydia weren’t together as a couple. That he was coming back to the Endure without her might be evidence that was true. But it could also mean that they didn’t have the money to keep them both and Nick drew the short straw. Lydia was the boss, after all. She could have ordered him to come back whether they were together or not.
Feeling the anger that haunted him for weeks rising, he decided to do something constructive with it. Turning to the bag, Daniel threw punch after punch until his shoulders ached, and then he punched even harder. Maybe if he was too sore to move tomorrow, he wouldn’t be tempted to beat Nick’s brilliant white teeth into the back of his throat.
