These days, I fall somewhere between the two. I’d never go back and relive that time, but I can glance over my shoulder now and pick out the best parts. And it’s those parts I hang onto, the memories that shine the brightest and bring a small sense of wistfulness the present often lacks.

It’s become apparent I’m really bad at keeping up with the blogging thing. How is it already Halloween???

It’s about that time again. One month from now, on November 1st, 2016, the second book in the Hearts of Valentia saga drops! I was all set to share a teaser on social media today, but it occurred to me I haven’t shown anyone the cover yet. So this went out to my email newsletter subscribers on Wednesday evening, and now it’s time to tell the rest of the world!
As you know from my last post, Dust in the Desert is a retelling of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, and I talked a bit about the issues I had with it already. So here’s my question:
So, here we are in 2016 already. Last year was a bit of a blur for me, with days flying by as fast as pages being rifled in a book. It went by so quickly, I didn’t get much of a chance to take a breath and plan my release schedule for this year until very recently.
Rather than prattle on about that, however, today I’m writing to let you know that I’ve sneaky-ninja-dropped a brand new book on Amazon! No big fuss this time. I simply finished, edited, and shoved it out the door. Marketing? What’s that? Pfft. :P
One great thing about being an indie author is flexibility when it comes to a book cover, and the ability to change it fast when a problem comes up. Today, I’m going to show you the cover for my next release, but I’m also going to show you some of the less tidy bumps in the road I hit on the way to the finished product. I thought folks might like an inside look at this process, and I promise it’ll be faster for you than it was for me. ;)
Well, I have to say that it’s been quite the busy year so far, and we’re not even four months into 2015 yet. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about different projects of mine, so I figured I’d go ahead and answer everything all at once in one big post.
